The essay below is a follow-up to last month’s blog post.

Heaven on Earth 2025

The Holy Mass in Eastern Orthodoxy is an event of wondrous symbolic proportions in which copious amounts of incense is burnt. It is to the faithful seen as “a glimpse of heaven.” For those who have experienced the more streamlined and even bare-bones versions of the Mass in the various Protestant sects, the Roman Catholic and Episcopal High Masses appear to be rites of rare ritualistic exuberance. From this it is easy to understand why Eastern Orthodoxy holds a peculiar place in the emotions of many on the Western esoteric paths. Over the last few years Orthodoxy has increasingly been one of the growing religious movements in the United States, growing by conversion rather than immigration. While we have presented the possible reasons for this in previous essays, what is important to us as practitioners on the Path of Return is, “How do we find this ‘glimpse of heaven’ in our practices, be they solo or among the Household of the Faithful?”

First, we must make it our aspiration, our goal. Second, we must be open to the changes in ourselves, our personality, our thoughts, our words, and our deeds. This can easily be seen in the aspects of our personality that block the various Paths on the Tree of Life leading to Tiphareth. Third, when we realize either from an inner awakening or an outer stimulation of that awakening (such as reading this essay), we must then act in accordance with the ‘impulse of awareness’ to change our self-perception and open up to the Solar array within. And finally, as the scriptures say, we cannot ‘hide our light under a bushel,’ so we must let this Light, Life, and Love grow and radiate forth into our lives and those around us – regardless of the consequences.

Now, this last part is hard. It is outright difficult as it is here that we realize that connecting to this inner sun is just the beginning of a new path. We are to be still in the world but not of it, and that means others may or may not respond well to us. It also means that, if the path is not completed, it is possible to see, experience, and dwell in the presence of the Light, Life, and Love of Christ and still not understand it – we may even turn away from it in the hour of trial.

One need only think of Judas as the prime archetype of this betrayal, and the other disciples for their doubt who questioned the events that transpired after the resurrection. Note, it is the women, the ‘initiatic energy’ or bearers of the ‘Shekinah’ who did not doubt or run. We see a similar, although far less dramatic, series of events recounted about the relationship between Shakyamni Buddha and his brother, who we are told was constantly doubting him despite their close relationship. Here again we see the old saying, “A prophet is not welcome in his own house.”

We have mentioned in several essays that many people are looking to 2025 as the year in which the Kali Yuga comes to an end, and on the Spring Equinox to be exact. Others are looking at it as a period of great tribulation and revelation. Of course, every year is a year of tribulation and revelation depending on your point of view. This is of course Assiah, the World of Action, so things are in movement and therefore friction and change are givens. And yet, some periods are more intense and exacting than others. They are more pivotal, and the actions taken during them have a more lasting and profound ripple effect into the future. That is of course part of the benefits of the Kali Yuga, the Age of Iron, in that any efforts at spiritual practice are more beneficial because they are a conscious choice and take more energy, more work, than in an easier epoch. This means you can acquire more beneficial energy (karma) more quickly than in a less challenging setting.

Among the more common statements of 2025 we hear of late is a reference to Alice Bailey, one of the leading figures of Theosophy in the mid-Twentieth Century. She was one of the first writers to use the term “New Age” and with it advocated for a single world government and religion.

From the Lucis Trust (established 1922) website we read:

“2025 is a Jubilee year in the Christian and Jewish calendar that is also the focus of prophecy. The ageless wisdom suggests that in the 25th year of every century there is a gathering on the subtle planes of all Masters, Saints, Rishis and Enlightened Beings, and over time this is followed by significant changes in humanity. Because of the growth of soul values (the sense of synthesis, the inclusive spirit, and the rejection of separateness by people of intelligent goodwill) there are grounds for expecting the worlds of soul and of outer human living to be increasingly aligned in the years and decades following 2025. This might mean people who have achieved some measure of spiritual enlightenment emerging as leaders in all manner of human affairs, uniting the hundreds of thousands of world servers from every part of the planet, initiating a renaissance in global culture and civilization. Prophecy even suggests the emergence, at some undefined time, of a Christ-like figure recognized by people of spiritual inclination in all faiths.”

The idea that a world Savior recognized by all peoples was widely promoted within alternative spiritual circles despite the many questions it creates – “a Christ-like figure” is not necessarily a Christ. The idea that “all faiths” will recognize such a being, given the significant divergent views even within closely related movements, is both questionable and troubling. The Utopian ideas presented represent the wishful thinking of people who experienced deep trauma from two world wars, revolution, worldwide economic depression, and the famous “Spanish Flu” that killed up to twenty percent of the world’s population. In addition, Bailey reportedly channeled her writings, attributed to cosmic masters or Mahatmas (“Great Souls”), and these books are taken as a doctrine of faith by their followers. They are in fact a revealed religion or philosophy. We have no way of knowing if 1) they are in fact messages and guidance from superior enlightened beings; 2) well-constructed delusions; 3) messages from deceptive entities with an agenda of their own; 4) or a fictional fabrication. I doubt the last one, but have no way of confirming or denying the first three possibilities.

H.P. Blavatsky was Bailey’s precursor and inspiration, and as we have previously stated (c. 1875) she said that humanity was nearing the point wherein it would have to make choices and those choices would decide if humanity as a whole was headed towards 1,000 years of Light or 1,000 years of Darkness. Now, these years may be symbolic of simply a very long time, but they are essentially half a zodiacal age. The Age of Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, the planet of the Golden Age, but also the harsh, cold, and demanding limiter and extractor of karmic dues that is known as “The Greater Malefic” in astrology. It is important to note that the number 1,000 also has several correspondences to Tiphareth, which can be both the powers of Christ or the Anti-Christ (materialism) incarnate depending on one’s point of view.

Because it is in vogue and well known at the moment, we used the language of Rudolf Steiner’s Anthroposophy to explain, in a slightly technical manner from an esoteric point of view, how this happens along with the more common understanding of the Paths on the Tree of Life of Qabala. We repeat it below.

Ahriman represents, or is even the incarnation of the forces-intelligences that control the astral powers of Baphomet (Yesod or astral energies as per Eliphas Levi), and blocks the influences of Tiphareth and Netzach by emphasizing the intellectual or reasoning mind. It directs the emotional, imaginative, and psychic energies into technology in particular so that our sense of self may become both identified with it, as well as lost into it. Lucifer (Netzach) controls the astral powers of the Baphomet (astral) but blocks the influences of Tiphareth (inner light) and Hod (intellect) through excessive emphasis of the emotions into the realm of the physical senses. Both corrupt the influences of Tiphareth (individuality/self) in their own Spheres or areas of influence by creating the notion of the ‘little self’ as the ‘absolute self’ – or ‘worldly ego as all that is’ – and this corruption is the nature of what we call the Anti-Christ. The Anti-Christ is essentially a force and concept that is anti-interior and uses what access it has to the psychic domain to encourage materialism, selfishness, and even certain forms of atheism, as well as ‘black magic’ for lack of a better term. It is in the language of Traditionalism, counter-initiation through deception.

The good news is that every season or period of time offers an opportunity for awakening on the Path of Return.

The time of the Anti-Christ is a period when the powers of the Christ, the inner sun, will seem to appear and bring tremendous possibilities to humanity – universal peace, religion, and a general singularity or collective agreement on ethical, moral, and spiritual values. This appearance will be a deception in that it is partially true, but also dishonest about its intentions and purpose. During this time, many of the faithful will be deceived. That means the entire Household of the Faithful, not just the Christian faithful. The Kalachakra prophecies say the same thing, that many including high Lamas will be deceived by the stunning powers of darkness because of their technological marvels. It will be a promise of light and freedom, but in reality will bring ignorance and control voluntarily followed by the majority of people, each for their own reasons.

Are we there? I think so, and not because of any great psychic insight or vision, but simply because the people building these technological marvels are telling us in very clear terms that is where we are at. We are at a crossroads and the decision we make will be either the Path of Return or the Road to Perdition. Is there a New Jerusalem at the end of the road? Of course, and by the way, either one will get us there. One path however, if preferable to the other. The Seventeenth Path on the Tree of Life is a suitable guide for this point in terrestrial time.

From the Philosophers of Nature Qabala course we are told that at the level of Briah this path leads to the ultimate initiation of Air, allowing for a selection of forces to be employed. In Yetzirah it is a choice between religious emotions, or notions (religious mysticism) or a logical understanding of the forces of the universe. In Assiah it is between a spiritual life or materialism. And, importantly, that it is on this path that “if the students is ready the Master appears.” Of course Gemini is an Air sign and as such has commonalities with Aquarius, The upcoming astrological influences of Gemini will set the stage wherein these choice in whole or part are made.

We discussed Gemini and Aquarius in our presentation “Pluto in Aquarius: 2025 and Beyond” and since then have shared some of the considerable revelations made about the advances in this technological domain. Once again, you are strongly encouraged to listen to that presentation for a broader context of upcoming conditions and reasonable outcomes they will present.

We have invited you to support our capstone project, the IHS Collection to ensure the survival and availability of select titles on esotericism and related topics. This is not only confidence in the future, but also putting that confidence into action and building it now, in the present. In supporting it you will have made your choice and stand with it, signed your name to this virtual spiritual ‘declaration of independence’ and be one of the ‘founding parents’ of the future.

In this way you share your Light, Life, and Love, and prepare yourself not only for adepthood, but the critical journey of the Hermit, or the way out of this world while providing teachings, techniques, and tools for those who follow you. Of the path of the Hermit, we will say more in the future.
