Predictions for 2023 to 2024 and Beyond

Dear Friends,

At the beginning of this year, New Year’s Eve to be exact, I was asked to make a series of predictions about the most likely events of 2022. This was done as part of a larger broadcast and I shared my comments with you in a mailing. Below is a short reminder of some of the things said that have come to pass so that you will take my predictions for 2023 and beyond with a degree of seriousness.

I stress this because while many people have asked me for predictions over the years it became apparent that even with most astrological clients these were being ignored. The information was looked at for informational, or entertainment purposes, but not trusted enough to be the basis of planning. Now, those who did take the predictions seriously prospered significantly from it, even if that meant avoiding or reducing the impact of possible negative events, and thereby having an easier go of things in life.

We say that “No one plans to fail, they simply fail to plan” and that is one of the most important truths we can hear. In esotericism we plan rituals, we plan timing of spagrics, talismans, meditations, yoga classes, and attending an event or two. But how often does that planning extend into the larger picture of life? How often do we find ourselves planning out our week, month, year, or even having a vision of where we want to be in five or ten years?

While we may not achieve all of our goals with a plan, at least we have an improved opportunity to achieve some of them, and more often than not, the most important ones. And without a plan, we are less likely to organize our energies, time, treasure, and talent in an effective way toward a goal and just as little likely to develop the skills and virtues – the real psychic powers – we need to attain our goals.

The Here, Hereafter, and Here We Go Again Hereafter

In 2023 we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Institute for Hermetic Studies. Many of you realize that few modern esoteric organizations have survived as long as we have or had the same level of impact. With this in mind, the Board of Directors and volunteers have decided to look to the future and to plan for it. That is, we are using our knowledge of astrology, psychic viewing, and related methods, to get an idea of what kind of environment we – and that includes you as well – will be living in over the next year, and next few decades.

So, before we look to the future, let’s look at the past. Here is some of what I said about 2022 that has come to pass.

Below is what I wrote we would see in 2022:

“An expansion of those areas associated with business, religion, and government, when combined with the fantasy driven enthusiasm this will result in the expounding of some of the the most embarrassing and inane ideas we have ever seen of which the mainstream media as well as carefully constructed and controlled messages via alternative media will be the main source of propagation. This translates into expansion in all areas of business, government, education, media, and religion/philosophy (political-mythic) and to some degree further integration on their part. Possibly the best quote we have on this will be a greater “integration of all major industries underneath the control of common funds.” [Dr. Robert Malone]

This means that those less prone to self-delusion will have the opportunity to further explore, and hopefully implement, many of the great insights that can be achieved during a moment of inspiration – an inspiration that must be anchored to material reality, something neither of the planetary energies of Neptune is particularly fond of.

In the media we will see a further inclusion of occult based themes, as well as both dystopian and maybe some utopian visions. Occultism as a wide term for a variety of New Age beliefs as well, will be more out front in media, pop-culture in particular, and with it a certain obsession with visionary experiences: that means dreams, psychedelic drugs, and parapsychology – which includes UFO and conspiracy ideas or deep secrets. There will be continued promises of revelation but they will not come. In general, the importance of the legacy mainstream media will diminish significantly across the year as even more people look to other sources for their information.

Spirituality will increasingly be bi-furcated, that is split into two branches: traditional (as well as fundamentalist in all its shades), and that includes esotericism and aspects of certain studies within Buddhism, Yoga, and folk magic – witchcraft will be even more strongly felt in pop culture and with it the ever essential antagonist of demonology. More importantly in practice, there will also be the near total identification of non-traditional spirituality with progressive/liberal politics, and the purges in those movements that we saw over the last few years will accelerate as the “political litmus test” becomes the norm, even official policy, for many.

Fantasy vs reality/idealism vs practicality will be the duality that needs to be reconciled within spiritual movements in particular, and the media as a whole. Trust in the media and news sources will continue to deteriorate and some “confessions” will appear within the media either as sincere admissions of error or simply a way to retain audience numbers.

Energy issues will continue to increase, particularly liquid fuels, which for us means nearly all our energy sources. This also means inflation is going to become increasingly obvious, and move to the forefront of people’s financial concerns: inflation is the destroyer of wealth for most people, and the creator of it for those who get out in front of it. A re-creation of the late 1970s is very possible and with it the same political outcomes.

Saber rattling will be loud, but I doubt drawn into open conflict, at least not this year. I suggest looking ahead to 2023-2024 for a more realistic time frame for the increased likelihood of confrontation between major powers. But even that depends on a lot of ‘ifs’ that must be avoided at nearly any cost.

This will be a good year to tether yourself to the earth and to make right with Saturn as a means of creating an antidote to these expansive, delightful, but potentially destabilizing and even manic views and excessive exuberance these energies can create.”

In addition we pointed out the following.

In 1999, at the final offical Philosophers of Nature Conference, Jean Dubuis stated,

“In fact there is a very powerful occult group not very well known to the public, and they do a permanent cleaning up and destroy the negative things in the astral. If you’ve gone through that the first time, if you’ve read the book Zanoni, it’s true that you will see the Guardian of the Threshold, but the Guardian of the Threshold is yourself. It is the negativity that is inside you. There is no Guardian of the Threshold above from the one that is in you. If you wanted a more exact word, you should say that the Guardian of the Threshold is your inner self. And it takes the form that you give it. If you have service then it will be good, if you are negative, it will not be good. For the general aura of the earth there is an automatic clean-up – is not American nor European specifically, it is a bit of both.”

Astrologically we have examined the charts of the Institute for Hermetic Studies in relation to the following astrological conditions so that we may plan for our upcoming Saturn Return in 2028, as well as for the thirty or more years that follows. We are treating the Institute as a living being, a force of illumination in this world, and that means examining its life cycle up to three Saturn Return’s or approximately ninety years. While this may sound strange to many, we ask you, “If the Institute for Hermetic Studies and its officers and students does not plan to be here to help people, who will? If we do not see ourselves lasting beyond one generation, then why even speak of traditions, lineage, continuity, or reincarnation at all?”

You see, that is it in a nutshell.

As esotericists we live in the “Here And Now” while realizing there is a “Here After” that will most likely involve us experiencing “Here We Go Again Here After” in terms of where, when, and how we experience “rebirth”. Esotericism is to provide us with tools and experiences so that we can prepare and that means plan, for our “rebirth.” It is up to us to provide ourselves – and by that others as part of the chain of custodianship and continuity – so that we have these tools available to us in our as yet to be determined future.

Very often these days I hear esotericists, many who have decades of involvement on some level, look at current events or towards the future and say, “I’ll be dead by then so I don’t have to worry about it.” In the past I would let that pass by, but not anymore. Those who state they are on a spiritual path and utter such statements are to be admonished gently or harshly as the situation demands, as they are expressing a degree of selfishness and ignorance that betrays any work they may have done – undoing it completely. They have only limited concern for themselves, and clearly none for their children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren, and as such, no concern for the environment in which they WILL BE REBORN.

Let me be very clear on this, you do not get to ignore your responsibilities and reincarnate, be here on planet Earth, somewhere else, or in some psychic dimension, and have it be better than what you left behind. Each according to their own efforts, each according to their own work. If you want to be reborn in a better world, you are responsible to making that world a reality. You do not get to trash the hotel room and get a new one free of charge. It doesn’t work that way.

To encourage you to take this seriously and to act upon the information provided, I am sharing with you some of the astrological configurations that we at the Institute are taking into account for our long term planning. This of course is being done in conjunction with charts specific to the Institute as well. The following information is taken from Planetary Cycles: Mundane Astrology by Andre Barbault, a French astrologer.

1. “The coming of the triple conjunction Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto in 2020-2023, with dissonant Uranus-Neptune semi-square as well, promises to be a a new constellation of imbalance in society. Exactly what will happen is uncertain but the risk is generalized chaos. …with the risk of Europe being at the epicenter. There is another player that will affect these transits; an equally important factor that I will introduce later on. With regards to the next critical stage, although its nature is unknown, you could think nevertheless that, if Europe is going to be particularly susceptible to this turn of events, it could be because the nation states here at home risk suffering the negative effects of globalization. .. we can only wonder about the depth of the trough as the wave plunges in 2020-21…when there is a risk of more poverty.”

The above requires no further explanation.

2. “…China, must she not become the world leader at the next Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 2020-2021; … the cyclic transfer from Washington to Pekin won’t happen later than the next Saturn-Uranus conjunction in 2032.”

This remains to be seen in light of recent revelations regarding China’s demographics and current unrest. However, the devil is in the details, and it is possible for a weakened Beijing to become the focus of power against a further weakened West. The nature of the leadership needed is not clearly expressed, only that it will have a dominant leadership on the world stage.

3. “If we could make a reasonable promise regarding the future that has a good chance of being kept, it would be that there will be a new phase of technological growth, altruistic in nature, between 2026-2028 …”

“The next conjunction in 2026 is centrally placed at the beginning of Aries and is in a triangular quartet of planets with a double sextile to a trine between Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. It is the most benefic configuration of the century and its interplanetary partnership will work for the best in a splendid relaunch of civilization. It contains a harmonious relationship between primordial polar opposites; the coming together of the external and the internal, rational and spiritual, mind and soul …human beings surpassing themselves while experiencing life on a higher level.”

This is an optimistic view and means that if we prepare for it we can maximize the potential that it will bring, as conditions are just that, conditions and the outcomes are based on what we do with the opportunity. What the broader environment will look like however is not clear what we are talking about a when we read the words “relaunch of civilization.” Like all astrological cycles, there are positive and negative, expansive and contractive aspects that are the real force that defines the conditions being described. Details are critical and need to be sought out.

4.The contrast is striking with the following Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Gemini 2061 which is square to Pluto in Pisces and sesquiquadrate to Uranus in Scorpio; a confrontation between warring brothers, promising great revolutionary storms. The continent of North America seems to be the region that is most exposed.”

For many this appears to be of little concern, but it is the world in which your children and grandchildren will be living. Therefore what we do now will have an impact on the degree of severity this period will bring. This will be the world in which some of you will be reincarnating, as is most certainly the following:

5. “Uranus-Neptune cycle, … impressive peak of 2080-81 when a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction passes over a Uranus-Neptune opposition: a kind of intensification of 1914 and 1942. This is a critical juncture with an extreme planetary threat, we don’t know if it is human, natural, or both.”

In addition we must also realize that what is inevitable, regardless of astrology, or miraculous scientific and technological breakthroughs is the following.

• Reality of nuclear weapons/energy require a stable society to not be threat either by accident or design.
• We will experience further energy reduction for an indefinate period of time.
• This will result in increased expenses, or inflation in all areas of life.
• Population cycles need to be considered in relation to resources: the UN predicts the global population could grow to around 8.5 billion in just 8 years. By 2080, the world’s population is expected to peak at 10.4 billion. Then there’s a 50% chance that the population will plateau or begin to decrease by 2100. Of course, there are some studies that put population collapse as early as 2040s-50s.

In short, without significant changes in the present course, we will experience continued population growth and resource depletion occurring simultaneously. This will last until it is no longer sustainable and population reduction is the result.

Read this carefully: what you yoke yourself to will be your future. Choose your relationships carefully and passionately. You are responsible for yourself, and are responsible to those around you.

Unless you are quite certain of your capacity to find lasting illumination in this life or at your time of death, then decide what you desire your spiritual path to be and how you will be practicing it in the future as well as now. That future being the Here-After, and the Here Again Here-After.

If this of no concern to you, and you wish to take things as they come, then that is equally good.

Books maybe available, electronic documents may be available, but that is not certain or clear. But what is certain and clear, is that nothing will be available with out planning, actions, and resources to make those a physical reality. No one person or group of people can be depended upon to ensure that reality without risking considerable disappointment. “Many hands lighten the load” is the idea to be applied here.

What is certain is that what you do today, right now, at this very moment, is what decides what your future will be, regardless of the broader astrological or material conditions that exist. The seeds you plant and nurture are the food and fruit of your actions. Thereby, your life, your path, is irrevocibly your responsibility.

We ask each of you to take some time to contemplate what was written here and to actively plan your life for 2023 and beyond, and consider how you will engage with the conditions and their causes as mentioned. It is also key to plan for your death as well as your rebirth, in order to make that a situation that is beneficial to yourself and others.

What also must be clearly understood is that, in reading this message, each of you has been informed of these conditions and of your duties and responsibilities as practitioners on The Path of Return. Before the Weighing of the Heart, you cannot plead ignorance, only indifference, fear, or selfishness for not acting in accordance with your capacity at this moment. Wisdom comes with effort, and with wisdom comes power and responsibility.

Look now within your own self, and decide to commit yourself to the best and fullness of your capacity to create a better future for yourself and others, so that you may not cower in fear of astrological or other predictions, but know that the inner power that is inside has been brought forth into the world. In this you can say,

“I am the First and I am the Last. I am He that liveth but was dead, and behold I am alive for evermore, and hold the Keys of Hell and of Death.

For I know that my Redeemer liveth and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the Earth. I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me. I am the Purified. I have passed through the Gates of Darkness unto Light. I have fought upon Earth for good. I have finished my work. I have entered into the Invisible. I am the Sun in his rising. I have passed through the hour of Cloud and of Night. I am Amoun the Concealed One, the Opener of the Day. l am OSIRIS ONNOPHRIS, The Justified One. I am the Lord of Life, triumphant over death. There is no part of me which is not of the Gods. I am the Preparer of the Pathway, the Rescuer unto the Light. Out of the Darkness, let the Light arise.”

Hear the call and respond enthusiastically. Let your life be the example, the teachings, you leave for others.
