Some interesting points raised by a clinical psychologist and statistician.
“I was lecturing for three of four years on the topic and it took me a very long time to see what was happening – mass formation… it is an unconscious process for about 95% … it is a specific form of group formation when very specific conditions are met….particularly when a lot of people feel a lack of social bond … and people experience life as meaningless … and the third condition is there should be a lot of free floating anxiety and discontent. … the fourth condition is a lot of free floating frustration and aggression.”
How to make an egregore: “when these conditions exist and the media provides a narrative about what is happening and how to deal with it, all of this anxiety is attached to the narrative and there is a huge willingness to participate in the strategy because it gives a sense of control and they feel bonded and meaning in the heroic struggle regardless of its factuality. … This gives mental intoxication, and will go along, even if they lose everything important to them personally.”
This is an extremely informed and well presented video and I encourage you to pay close attention to it and share it widely.

If you want to understand the degree to which people complied with everything an authority told them over the last three years and will into the future, watch this documentary. Enough adults can be talked into just about anything -until it is too late.
“So, let me get this straight. At least 73 adults, managers of fast food restaurants, told an employee to progressively disrobe, submit to cavity searches, and in some instances perform sex on a stranger – all over a three hour period, because someone on a phone told them they were a police detective and told them to do it?”
“That is correct.”
“And it cost McDonald’s $200 million?”
“Correct.”
And this does not include those who did not report the incident, initiated the “search” and stopped, or hung-up before any actions were taken.
It is not simply about the .madness of crowds, but also the unthinking obedience to authority. These were people like your neighbors, your family, your friends, and maybe even you.

“..there is no need for conspiracy. It is only necessary that managers, corporate or governmental, understand and follow the “rules of behavior dictated by the structure that binds them” and the “set of stable assumptions,” often unspoken, that inform decision making. Decisions made by people who share assumptions, even though there has been no discussion between them, will produce actions so similar that there appears to be collusion even though the actors themselves feel they occupy conflicting positions. We would argue that the SP(I)N mode of organization is not only a viable one for a global society, more functional than the bureaucratic mode of the passing era, but that it is in fact the one that is emerging whether we choose it or not. Both the powerless and the powerful have utilized it as they have tried to meet the changing conditions. The powerless find it functional in fighting inequities. The powerful have found it workable as they expanded their sphere of activity beyond national boundaries to the global scene. … The key to the future may very well be conceptual rather than organizational.” The Changing Images of Man (SRI, 1982)
