Bridging the Worlds: Modern Shamanic and Hermetic Practices
The Underworld tradition is at the foundation of all religion, magic, initiation, and esotericism. It is derived from the Megalithic Age, and is pre-historical in that it is oral rather than written, experiential rather than ideological. Underworld experiences take us to a place of deep-seated power and emotions, they are not warm and fuzzy, and should not be undertaken if perseverance and courage are not handy tools. The Underworld is about breaking before building; it is about experiencing the physical world as light, in the same manner the Tibetan Tantric Lama imagines the physical world as a pure and perfect Buddhafield filled with human and non-human beings. Yet, the Underworld is seductive, in that it is about harmony between the visible and invisible realms. It is about life, vitality, youth, and powerful imagination - it is magic in its most powerful, sensual, erotic and illusive sense.

This report covers:
 • Shamanism and Hermeticism: Schools of the Same Tree
 • Parting of the Ways: Academic Approaches to Shamanism and Hermeticism
 • Totem, Guide, and Sign: Shamanic Tools for the Hermetic Student

Death, Dying and Immortality in Qabala and Alchemy
"[This is] the essential teaching of Egyptian esotericism as well as that of the Greeks: the knowledge of states after death, in order that to overcome fear of this death, psychological, and human fear. The initiate had knowledge of what awaited him; what could he be afraid of?" Jean Marques-Rivere, Histoire des doctrines esoteriques

Despite Western esotericism's focus on the invisible worlds there is scant discussion of death and dying in its literature. To be able to enter into the World of the Dead and to return is critical in our growth as individuals, and as a society. It is important that those who act as Psychopomp be able to transmit this knowledge in a manner that allows continuity with the past, and not seek a complete, and thereby artificial, break from it. Only death conveys immortality and adepthood, and only meditation on our personal death, and meditations that involves going through all of the stages and experiencing the emotional reactions that accompany each stage, can prepare us for our inevitable death, and initiation (either while alive or at the moment of death) into the ranks of the adepti. This Report is a complete overview of the death process from the perspectives of qabala and alchemy, and includes extensive meditations and practices to help students prepare for their personal death, or to assist others in the process of dying.

 • Meditation, Sleep, Sex, and Death
 • Stages of Dying in Alchemy and Qabala: Crossing Over Intact
 • Incorruptibility, Resurrection of the Dead, Physical Immortality

Drawing Down the Life of Heaven: Magic in the Renaissance
"The Renaissance is the rebirth of the 'occult sciences' and not, as taught in schools, the resurrection of classical philology and a forgotten vocabulary." - Will-Erich Peuckert

The Renaissance was the high point of the Hermetic Arts and Sciences with astrology, alchemy, and qabala being the cornerstones of cultural, scientific, and philosophical development. From the palaces of princes to the chambers of Popes, magic was practiced in secret and in the open. Through the power of the imagination, in conjunction with the use of stones, herbs, talismans, and astrological timing it was thought that personal and collective ills could be healed, the rift between heaven and earth repaired, and that the Magus would reclaim their rightful place as mediator of the soul. Renaissance Magic is the basis for most modern magical practices, as well as modern alternative therapies and holistic practices. This Special Report is a thorough and complete overview of the most critical period in European magical and cultural development.

Report Overview
 • The Renaissance: Age of Art and Imagination
 • Natural, Demonic, and Angelic Magic
 • The End of Magic and the Beginning of Secret Societies
 • The Survival of Magic: Alternative Therapies and Modern Holistic Practices
 • The Re-Enchantment of the World in the 21st Century

How To Study Enochian Magic
There are few students of contemporary esotericism that are not familiar with Enochian. Yet, despite the hundreds of printed and electronic volumes available on Enochian magic many students still have problems with the system. How to Study Enochian Magic examines the many claims surrounding Enochian and suggests practical and meaningful ways of progressively studying Enochian magic so that it can become a meaningful aid in one's spiritual growth. How to Study Enochian Magic does not repeat what is said in other works, but seeks to expand upon their ideas and synthesize them with various viewpoints thereby making Enochian easier to understand and use. Specific works for practicing Enochian magic are referenced. Sample rituals are provided.
 • The Role of Enochian in Modern Magic: Problems and Potentials
 • The Watchtowers and the Aethyrs: A Progressive Study Approach

Introduction to Alchemy: A Golden Dawn Perspective
Practical laboratory alchemy has long been the capstone of Western esotericism, and only in recent years, with the advent of the Golden Dawn system has it taken back seat to Enochian magic. For decades, even Israel Regardie viewed alchemy in purely psychological terms, and thought laboratory practices to be either defunct or misguided. This view persisted until his meeting with Frater Albertus, a former student of the Rosicrucian Order’s (AMORC) alchemy classes in the 1940’s and founder of the Paracelsus Research Society – a school of practical alchemy. However, within the Golden Dawn tradition, and from the very order Regardie was a member of, the Stella Matutina, a living expression of laboratory alchemy was successfully practiced using the Z.2 formula of the Order. This paper examines general plant and mineral alchemy, and places it in a context ideal for students of the Golden Dawn or related systems. It is especially suited for students in the Portal and Adeptus Minor grades, and is currently in use as a Knowledge Lecture by several Golden Dawn organizations. This is a massive Special Report, exceeding 23,000 words, whose topics include:

Introduction to Alchemical Theory and Cosmology.

 • Introduction to Preparing Antimony and its Uses.

Introduction to Hermeticism: Its Theory and Practice
Hermeticism has been the benchmark of traditional Western esotericism since its inception and has served as the focal point for synthesizing the metaphysical doctrines and practices of pre-Christian civilizations. Revived during the Renaissance, classical Hermeticism was reformed to meet the peculiar needs of Europe during one of its most creative, as well as brutal periods in modern history. Suppressed but not destroyed, Hermeticism continued to survive, even to grow and expand in influence, through the creation of secret societies, arcane manuscripts, and according to some - even architecture itself - until its second great revival in the 19th Century. The 'Occult Revivals' in France, England, Germany, and to a lesser degree in Russia, and the United States, has served as the starting point for esoteric doctrines for a majority of the 20th Century's initiatic movements. As we enter the 21st Century, and a new millennium, Hermeticism is demonstrating that its unique blend of science, mysticism, symbolism, psychology, and preference for experience over doctrine, makes it ideal for the Western mind set, giving it the possibility of achieving its place once again as the cultural capstone of Western Civilization. This Special Report is a complete overview of the development of Hermetic philosophy, theory and practices.
