The Masonic Reading Society

Meetings held the second Wednesday of each month 6:30pm

The Masonic Reading Society was established to promote the study and discussion of Freemasonry among Masons and non-Masons who are interested in the history and purpose of the Craft. In addition, it is hoped that the Society will assist in placing Freemasonry in the public eye as a valuable vehicle for personal, cultural, and community enhancement, particularly in Northeastern Pennsylvania where the Society meets. In doing so, we hope to improve the quality of Masonic education for Freemasons, as well as act as a vehicle for Masonic membership for those interested in Freemasonry, and allied subjects or bodies. The Society is open to both men and women.

Meetings consist of a brief introduction (15 minutes) regarding the pre-selected book or topic of the month, open discussion, and dinner. Each attendee is responsible for paying for their refreshments. Payment is due on the night of each meeting. Special programs or guest speakers may require additional fees and will be announced prior to the evening program. Meetings start promptly at 6:30pm. RSVP to ensure proper seating arrangements.

Dress Code
The Masonic Reading Society is a guest in a private business club and as such, requires that all attendees adhere to the club’s dress code. Business casual is acceptable on the second floor where meetings are held, however, in the event of a first floor placement, we encourage men and women to wear standard business attire of long pants or skirt, jacket, tie, collared shirt, or dress, and suitable footwear. Jeans, shorts, collarless shirts, and sneakers are not acceptable. If the dress code is not adhered to attendees will be asked to leave.
